Sainsbury

From the 1st January the Pharmacies within the Sainsburys stores at Sale, Altrincham, Urmston and Fallowfield will have the NHS Quit Kits for customers who wish to stop smoking in 2012. Customers can speak to the Pharmasist who will be able to give advice and issue these free Quit Kits. This facility will be available until the end of March.

The Pharmacies at Sainsbury’s in Sale, Altrincham and Urmston will be working in conjunction with Flora Pro-Activ to provide free cholesterol testing from 25th January until 14th February.

Customers should telephone the Pharmacy or pop along to make an appointment.

Refresh Cafe is a community based project in Sale moor offering a wide range of services to the local community including youth services as well as parent drop in's and family work. Natural Recovery Action Group

Action for Sustainable Living (AfSL) holds the gardening project "Natural Recovery" at Syrian House, a care home for people with mental health problems in Sale. Volunteers, residents of the house and youth offenders meet every Wednesday at 2pm to work the garden. Our aim is to help residents in their recovery, to offer people from the local community the possibility of participating in a sustainable project and to work towards social inclusion.

Sale and Ashton on Mersey United Reformed Churches are open for services of worship on each Sunday morning at 10.45am lasting an hour. Sale church has an evening gathering which is more informal usually involving discussion, debate, Bible study, music etc. It starts at 6pm for an hour.

Senior Citizens Coffee Morning Sale United Reformed Church, Montague Rd, Sale

Each Tuesday on Montague Road there is a coffee morning for the local community. It runs from 10.15 am until about 12 noon and all local senior citizens are welcome to drop in for a chat, make new friends and share a cuppa together.

The Pleasant Tuesday Afternoon (or PTA as it is sometimes known)

We are a weekly group of mainly older women (60s plus) who meet to chat, make friends and learn about new topics together. Usually there is a speaker for about 15 minutes, sometimes including photos, slides and music.

We have tea/coffee together at the end of the meeting. It is run by a small group of women who attend the church but the group is open to all, and is friendly and welcoming and would love new people to come along.
Just turn up! All welcome.
