WHO CAN USE THE SCHEME?

Anyone with mobility difficulties as a result of permanent or temporary disablement, age, accident or illness. The service is available to the young and elderly alike.

HOW FAR CAN I GO?

Anywhere within the town centre. Most footpaths have dropped kerbs at convenient points, which will accommodate the wheelchair or scooter. If you have any problems at particular locations, please inform the Shopmobility office.

HOW DOES THE SCHEME OPERATE?

On your first visit to Trafford Shopmobility you will be required to fill in a simple form and to provide some proof of indentification e.g pension book, bus pass, drivers license etc. We will help you choose the best vehicle for your needs and you will be shown how to operate it safely. An area is set aside for trying the wheelchair / scooter out and you can have as much practice as you like.

HOW CAN I BECOME A MEMBER AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS/

Becoming a member of Trafford Shopmobility entitles you to a years unlimited use of either a wheelchair or a scooter. Membership is £20 a year, which includes a membership card. Membership also entitles you to vote at the Annual General Meeting.

(a session is up to 3hrs)

At Stretford Arndale Centre a £2.00 refundable deposit is required.

We also hire out non-powered wheelchairs on long term loan
