Start
volunteers are parents. They visit families at home once a week
for a few hours.
A
Home Start Volunteer will be there to:
- listen
to you
- help
you with your children
- help
you keep appointments and fill in forms
- help
you to meet other families
- help
you to use other services
Home
Start volunteers have all been trained
before they visit families. They know it can be difficult to manage
everyday family life. They can help you because they come from different
backgrounds and cultures.
When
you want help from Home Start one of our staff will visit
you at home and will talk to you about how a volunteer can help
you. When you accept this offer of help, Home Start will
introduce you to a volunteer. You can talk and share your problems
in confidence. your volunteer will continue to visit as long as
you need their help.
Contact
the Home Start office to find out more. Bring someone with
you if you want.
